How to use the Toaster

 

Step 1:

Plug in the toaster

Step 2:

Put bread in the slots

Step 3:

Choose number of heated slots wanted. Turn the nozzle to choose.

Step 4:

Turn timer (No 2 for a starting point). The timer will work without the plug being in (but won’t toast) so can therefore get confusing.

Step 5:

Use the lever to lower toast down into the toaster. Watch toast as it won’t pop up by itself. Use lever to bring toast up.

NOTE: Don't leave the toast in the toaster for too long. It will get stuck!

PENGERTIAN EXPRESSION OF AGREE DAN DISAGREE

Expression of agree artinya ekspresi atau ungkapan yang menyatakan setuju dengan pendapat orang lain. Expressing agree berarti mengekspresikan persetujuan.

Expression of disagree artinya ekspresi atau ungkapan yang menyatakan tidak setuju dengan pendapat orang lain. Expressing disagree berarti mengekspresikan ketidaksetujuan.

Expressing agreement

• I agree with you 100 percent.
• I couldn't agree with you more.

A: Why didn’t you turn left? It’s the quickest way to get there. (Mengapa kamu tidak belok kiri? Itu adalah jalan tercepat untuk sampai ke sana)

B: I don’t think so. If we turned left, we would be stuck in the traffic jam. Hence, the journey would take some more time.  (Aku tidak setuju. Jika kita belok kiri, kita akan terjebak macet. Oleh karena itu, perjalanan akan memakan lebih banyak waktu)

A: All right. Let’s see if you’re right. (Baik. Mari kita lihat jika kamu benar)

B: Trust me. This is the best route to get there faster. (Percayalah padaku, ini adalah rute terbaik untuk sampai ke sana dengan cepat)

Contoh Percakapan Agree dan Disagree Tentang Makan

Rini      : Hey, Fika! Have you had lunch? (Hey, Fika! Apakah kamu sudah makan siang?)

Fika      : I have not yet. What about you? (Aku belum. Bagaimana dengan kamu?)

Rini      : Neither do I. Let’s we had lunch together, then. Do you have any idea where shall we eat? (Aku juga belum. Kalu begitu, mari kita makan siang Bersama. Apakah kamu punya ide dimana seharusnya kita makan?)

Fika      : Hmm, let me think. Aha! What about if we go to Sedap Restaurant?

Hmm, biarkan saya berpikir. Aha! Bagaiman jika pergi ke Sedap Restaurant?)

Rini      : Sedap Restaurant? Oh, I have ever eaten there but the service was slow. I am afraid we are going to be late to back to the office. (Sedap Restaurant? Oh, saya pernah makan di sana tetapi pelayanannya lama. Aku takut kita akan terlambat balik ke kantor)

Fika      : Really? Ouh, actually I have never been there but I think because it is near to our office so, I ask you there. (Benarkah? Ouh, sebenarnya aku belum pernah ke sana tetapi karena dekat dengan kantor kita, makanya aku tanya kamu ke sana)

Rini      : Hmm, aha I know. Do you mind if we eat in Berkah Restaurant? It offers many local menu.

Fika      : Ohiyaa, I know it. There is also my favourite menu. Again, the price is affordable.

Okay, let’s go there! (Ohiyaa, saya tahu itu. Di sana ada makanan kesuakaan saya. Lagi, harganya terjangkau. Okay, ayuk pergi ke sana!)

What is Procedure Text?

“Procedure text is a piece of text that give us instructions for doing something.”

Procedure text adalah sebuah teks yang memberikan kita perintah atau instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu.

“Procedure text  is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.”

Procedure text adalah teks yang dirancang untuk menggambarkan bagaimana sesuatu dicapai melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah-langkah.

Biasanya judul procedure text diawali dengan “How to ….“. Contohnya misalnya seperti “How to make a cup of tea” (Cara membuat secangkir tea), “How to Use the Computer” (Cara menggunakan komputer), dan masih banyak lagi contoh lainnya.

Generic Structure of Procedure Text

1. Aim atau Goal (Tujuan)

Terletak pada judul teks dan digunakan untuk menunjukkan tujuan dari teks tersebut.

Contoh : How to Make Noodle

2. Ingredients atau Materials

Berisi bahan atau alat yang diperlukan dalam langkah-langkah melakukan prosesnya.

Contoh : The materials to make an omelet are egg, onion, vegetable oil, salt, chilli and pepper.

3. Steps atau Methods

Berisi cara, metode, atau langkah yang dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan pada teks tersebut.

Contoh : First, wash the tomatoes. Then cut it into slices.

Ciri ciri prosedure text

1. Biasanya Mengunakan Simple Present Tense dengan rumus (S+V1)

2. Berbentuk imperative/bentuk perintah,

3. Menggunakan action verbs, contoh: make, take, boil, cook,

4. Menggunakan temporal conjunctions, contoh: First, then, next, after that, last

5. Menggunakan conjunctions (kata penghubung) untuk mengurutkan kegiatan, misalnya then, while, dsb.

6. Menggunakan adverbs (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan rinci waktu, tempat, cara yang akurat, misalnya for five minutes, 2 hours, dsb.

7. Menggunakan adverbs (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan tahapan atau urutan, misalkan the first, the second, the third, the last,  

TUJUAN TEXT PROCEDURE

“The social purpose of procedure text is to show how something is done through sequence of steps which enable the reader to achieve the goal.”

Tujuan sosial procedure text adalah untuk menunjukkan bagaimana sesuatu dilakukan melalui urutan langkah yang memungkinkan pembaca untuk mencapai tujuan.

“The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something through a sequence of actions or steps.”

Tujuan dari teks prosedur adalah untuk memberitahu pembaca bagaimana melakukan atau membuat sesuatu melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah-langkah .

Jenis-Jenis Procedure Text

1. Procedure text yang memaparkan cara mengoperasikan/menggunakan sesuatu/Manual. Misalnya how to use camera, how to use rice cooker.

2. Procedure text yang memberikan instruksi dalam melakukan kegiatan tertentu. Misalnya how to play guitar, how to make a brownies.

3. Procedure text yang berkaitan dengan kiat-kiat /tips/ aturan 

Misalnya how to be successful in life, how to make yourself happy.
